instant stories
I finished up a sketchbook page last night. I might try this again with gouache for the background instead of markers. I like playing with overlapping inky leaves like this.
i feel like i kinda ruined it with the color background idk. adding color is always hard for me.
reading: Wim Wenders Instant Stories
This book is huge, heavy, and the only book I came away with from the library on Sat. I've been reading this book on the couch, heavy on my lap, like a storybook for children. I'm in love with it.
Quotes from the book Instant Stories by Wim Wenders:
There is no negative for you to "make copies".
Polaroids are playful and casual.
There is only this real and single thing, a little square picture in it's own frame.
You produced and owned an original not a copy, not a print, not a multipliable, not repeatable.
Once, only once.
You could throw it away, but you couldn't delete it.
Proof of existence.
There was THE WORLD and here was THE PICTURE OF IT.
Time capsule of reality.
(I wrote all these quotes in my pocket-notebook; i love recording quotes from books, films, and bits of conversations I find interesting.)

Watching:
Virgin River S6. This show is the corniest, most wholesome show I've ever watched. But I like it lol. I'm sucked in and enjoying the sweetness of smalltown melodrama.
Today:
Heading towards mid-town to pick up some gouache paints, inquire about getting a couple drawings framed, and swing by the library to pick up another hold. It's snowing big fluffy snowflakes atm, and my weather app says it feels like -16°.
