records and zine mail
Feeling v contemplative this evening. Trying not to let the feelings take over, and recognizing the ebb and flow of creative eras.
I bought three records this week. Snocaps by Snowcaps, Creature of Habit by Courtney Barnett, and Greatest Hits by The Cure.
Snocaps and Creature of Habit have been on repeat since the weekend. Both records have amazing inserts. This is important!

I love Katie. And I adore MJ Lenderman. I mean, he's got a Dinosaur Jr tee on. Plus, he plays 12 strings on this album! So talented.

Weekly findings
All the tomatoes from Metro look beautiful, esp the heirlooms, but they taste like nothing. Mealy. Void of flavour. Perhaps I should try growing some on my balcony this year. A little project?
I've been having a hard time with sleep lately. For weeks, it seems. Mostly bc of the fan/machine on the roof of my building. A high-pitched, rumbling, grinding, continuous hellscape. But also, bc my hormones are waking me up at 4am every day? Idk. I made a plan: I bought earplugs (three different kinds to try bc i don't like the way earplugs make my ears feel), Glycinate/L-theanine supplements, keeping my room cool, not checking the time throughout the night, and passion flower/valerian root tea before bed.
I don't know why but I keep thinking about working in a floral shop? I don't know anything about flowers except for the fact that I find them beautiful. Speaking of work, I've applied to several clinics around where I live. 7 in total. I cold emailed them, so idk, we shall see. I guess after years of trying to make it as an artist, I'm finally coming to the realization that it's never going to "happen". I'm tired of trying. And that's ok. So I've started to look for a simple 9-5 job.
Zines I've read lately
I traded zines again with the lovely Elisa Milan. Her art is so dreamy, colourful, and makes me happy.

Her monthly zine Hello News is my favorite. It's full of small life updates, and art, and always so well put together.

I received some wonderful zines about the mail from Eva, who writes the blog Mail Adventures. Her thoughtful postcard from sunny Spain was so charming. And she even included an insert from Manu ;)
