i love Bear, even though my CSS skills suck

Such a great post from Herman today. His hard work, passion, and dedication to this project/platform are why I don't ever want to leave Bear. (Even though my severely limited CSS skills prevent me from doing so many things)!

This morning, I researched and spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out simple (to most people) CSS changes. Such as:

  1. Moving my Nav bar up closer to my blog title.
  2. Moving up my actual title up a bit.
  3. Figure out how to import new fonts.
  4. How to move my blog post title down a bit.
  5. How to add image captions. omg, I've been styling text with an H4 into a caption lookalike, but the above spacing drives me bonkers. Whyyyy do I let these things bother me?
  6. Thinking about how to manage my incredibly long blog list. It goes on forever. How do I add yearly titles to break it up?
  7. How do I style a blog tag list page?

(i have yet to figure any of them out. my CSS saga continues)

And yes, I've read the doc files but still can't figure it out. Sigh. I even inspected my blog's style sheet (!!!) and tried looking things up, but I may as well be reading a foreign language—which, technically, it is, lol.

It's frustrating. And I'm always scared that I'll somehow break my site. There's definitely a learning curve. But when I look at other blogging platforms, none feel right. Either they're overkill in the styling department, their company values are terrible/nonexistent, or they cost an exorbitant amount of money. The only one that has come close is Pika. I love their guestbook, where you can draw something.

Therefore—Bearblog for life! That reminds me, I should purchase the lifetime payment option.

I really want this Tamagotchi. I blame Kelsey.

Reading:

Still reading my Saga comics. I'm on Vol 5. of the books.

Watching:

Mayfair Witches. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. The lead protagonist is insanely pretty, which I'm not ashamed to say is the reason I keep watching.
