Zines + another day off...
Sometimes when I can’t sleep at night, I’ll put on old shows on my iPad lying in bed. My go-to is usually Seinfeld, bc George still makes me laugh. But also, I’ll put on some Frasier…how cute was Niles’s crush on Daphne? So when I saw that Julia Gfrörer made a zine based on the show, I had to get it.
Her art and zines lean dark. Haunting stories of despair twined with eroticism and tragic romance. My fav short comic of hers is River of Tears from Black Light Minicomic.
The thing I like about her art (other than the fact that she's insanely talented), is she renders her drawings entirely in analog format. She even has a zine guide to publishing without using a computer.
In other news, my hand still kills. I didn't realize the surgeon gave me a nerve block in the hand to numb me. F!, the remnants of that injection hurts more than the actual surgery site. Still can't type properly, draw, or do anything useful. Another day off...
