Smells Like Zine Spirit
My new microwave is beeping at me to tell me I've left my coffee cup in there again. Beeping microwaves...such deluxe living.
I peeked at my work calendar this morning (I try not to look at it when not working, but that rarely works), and I see that I have the longest day ahead of me. Help.
A good friend asked me the other day which Nirvana song was my favorite, and I cringed a little bit inside when I wanted to tell them it was Smells Like Teen Spirit.
I thought: great, they're gonna think I have the most vanilla taste in music. lol
I know it's cliched and that Kurt hated singing it, and it's their most commercially successful song, blah blah blah...but it is their catchiest song. I would even go so far as to say its THE catchiest song. I mean, that riff is unparalleled. Go ahead, try to deny it.
Also, how can one pick a fav song from bands they love? It's like picking a fav Beatles song. It's impossible.
I received one of my fav zines from Billy yesterday: Behind the Zines #15. Read a few pages last night, and it seems every issue somehow tops the previous one. It's my favorite.
I took a gander through my zine collection last night and started picking out a few zines to send to a friend, along with a few of my prized Behind The Zines issues. Sharing zines with someone who loves them as much as I do is an exceptional feeling.
