next year
Gobble. Gobble. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends:))
My sister went out and got us a Timmies coffee. The doggo is on the bed with me, snuggled in the crumpled-up duvet beside me.
Earphones are IN. Current song on the mix >>Fade Into You by Mazzy Star. Slow, dreamy, soft, romantic.
Glancing out the window, I see splashes of red and gold.
I keep my heart afloat by conjuring up future trips:
NEXT YEAR: >>> Go to Paris in late summer. Fall in love with the light. Walk the tiny cobbled streets. Drink wine. Eat good food. Meet new people. See family. Hop on and off the train to wherever my heart desires while writing clichéd postcards to friends back home. Indulge in the beauty of several months of serendipitous delights and the ease of total freedom.
Also thinking about apartment swapping. Maybe live somewhere entirely different for a year. Can you tell I want to crawl out of my skin, mind, this bed, this city?
NOTEBOOK THINGS:
- Memory: It took me 6 days to hitchhike from Toronto to Vancouver. Everyone warned me about getting stuck in Wawa, but all I saw of Wawa was its population sign as I flew past it from the back of a rusty Chevy truck
- Nothing can satisfy our yearning for eternity
- My heavy heart, full of you, could tip the world
