Circle-peg

I was talking to a friend late last night, and he sent me this line: "people can only meet you as deeply as they meet themselves."

A beautiful thought/sentence...not sure who wrote it. How books/pieces of writing find you at the exact moment where you can use/appreciate them the most is magic, no?

I've been contemplating this sentiment all morning. Thinking about the people in my life and the axiom: you're only as happy and healthy as the people around you.

In any kind of relationship, a continued curiosity is needed, and if your convos start lacking genuine engagement, don't square-peg yourself into a round hole. (Or is it circle-peg into a square hole... whatever.)

I don't think any one person can provide you with unmitigated reciprocity.
